Common Depression Symptoms

Exhaustion that Sleep Can’t Fix

There is too much worrying and nervousness, as well as intrusive thoughts.

Losing Interest in What You Once Loved

Things that used to excite you—music, hobbies, hanging out with friends—now feel dull or like a chore. Even when you try, it’s hard to feel anything but numb.

A Constant, Unshakable Sadness

It’s not just being sad; it’s feeling empty, hopeless, or like you’re carrying an invisible weight. Sometimes, there’s no obvious reason, and that makes it even harder to explain.

Feeling Isolated, Even When You’re Not Alone

You might be surrounded by people, but it still feels like you’re on an island, disconnected. Talking takes effort, and sometimes, you just don’t have the energy to pretend you’re okay.

Your Mind Turns Against You

Negative thoughts loop endlessly: “I’m not good enough,” “Nothing will ever change,” or “People would be better off without me.” Even if you know they’re irrational, they feel real and overwhelming.

Physical Pain and Discomfort

Depression isn’t just in your head. It can manifest as headaches, stomach issues, body aches, or a tightness in your chest. Some days, even getting out of bed feels physically painful.

    2. Teach you and model how to use CBT to challenge negative thought patterns.

    3. Teach and model CBT tools to understand internal patterns of thoughts, feelings & behaviors.

    GROWTH

During this phase of treatment, we go deeper in our processing. Your therapist will help you:

    1. Identify & address internal patterns of behaviors, blindspots, polarization, etc.

    2. Understand how your symptoms have helped you survive.

    3. Incorporate constructive narratives of why you do what you do.
